Greetings,
The COMET Program is pleased to announce the publication of the first two modules in the Volcanic Ash series - Introduction and Volcanism. These two modules introduce the topic of volcanic ash and the geological processes associated with its production. They can be completed within 90 minutes. These modules are the first two of four that will make up the Volcanic Ash course. The entire course will be available later this summer.
These modules introduce the audience to the influences of volcanic ash on aviation, climate, maritime operations and society as well as the geophysical processes of volcanic eruptions. Information is presented through a mixture of text, video, interactions and review questions, and each module offers a companion print version. The intended audience for the modules include forecasters, aviation forecasters, emergency managers, and others interested in the topic.
